The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
