A multitude from the ancients. 39 And a multitude from the later generations. 40 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 in the shadow of a smoking blaze, 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 and before that they lived at ease, 45 and persisted in the Great Sin, 46 and they used to say, "What! After we have died and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up again? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. 50 Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, 51 you shall eat (the fruit) of the Tree of Zakkum. 52 You shall fill your bellies with it, 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 It is He who created you, then why do you not affirm the truth? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 Did you create it or was it We who created it? 59 It is We Who ordained death upon you and We are not to be frustrated. 60 From replacing you with others or raising you in a way you do not know. 61 You have known the first growth; so why will you not remember? 62 See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground? 63 Do you yourselves sow it, or are We the Sowers? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 Nay, but we have been deprived [of our livelihood]!" 67 Consider the water that you drink. 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 Had We wanted, We could have made it salty. Why then do you not give thanks? 70 See ye the Fire which ye kindle? 71 Produce ye the tree thereof, or are We the Producer? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
