Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 its fruits are near. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
