Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what have you understood, how tremendous the true event is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Canst thou (O Muhammad) see any remnant of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 in a lofty Garden 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
