Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The sure calamity! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 when the sky will be rent asunder, the grip holding it together having loosened on that Day, 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 In a lofty garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
