Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Indubitable? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that Day it (the heaven will be frail (weak), and torn up, 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a Garden on high, 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
