Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)

۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Now dost thou see any remnant of them? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 Then on that Day shall the (Great) Event befall, 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in a lofty Garden 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 Our wealth is of no benefit to us 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor), 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
