WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 On the right hand and on the left, in sundry parties? 37 Does every one of them desire to enter the bountiful Paradise? 38 No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know. 39 But nay! I call to witness [Our being] the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise and sunset: verily, well able are We 40 To replace them by (others) better than them. And we are not to be outrun. 41 So leave them to plunge in vain talk and play about, until they meet their Day which they are promised. 42 The day when they will come out of their graves in all haste as though rushing to their altars, 43 Eyes lowered, shame attending. That is the day they have been promised! 44
