What aileth those who disbelieve, that they keep staring toward thee (O Muhammad), open-eyed, 36 On the right hand and on the left, in sundry parties? 37 Does every one of them wish to enter the garden of tranquility? 38 By no means! verily We! We have created them from that which they know. 39 I swear by the Lord of the easts and the wests, that, verily We are Able. 40 to substitute a better than they; We shall not be outstripped. 41 So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised - 42 the Day when they shall rush from their graves, as if they were hurrying to a raised flag, 43 With lowered eyes, disgrace overcoming them; this is the day, which they had been promised. 44
