Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite till an appointed time. When the time appointed by God arrives, it cannot be postponed, if you only knew." 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 but my call has only increased them in running away. 6 And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance. 7 Then I called them openly, 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 And I told them: 'Ask your Lord to forgive you. He is verily forgiving. 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 What is amiss with you that you do not look forward to the majesty of Allah 13 He has created you by stages! 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 And made the moon therein a [reflected] light and made the sun a burning lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 and He will later cause you to return to it and will then again bring you out of it. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
