By the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 about the sinners. 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
