No, by the moon! 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 a warning to humans, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
