By no means! By the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 as if they were startled asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
