Nay! By the moon 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 About the guilty: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
