Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
By the moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
