Nay! By the moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 except the people of the right hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
