Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
