Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
