Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
