Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
