Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? 1 Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing. 2 We surely showed him the way that he may either be grateful or deny. 3 For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. 4 the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, 5 A fountain from which the servants of Allah shall drink; they make it to flow a (goodly) flowing forth. 6 They fulfil their pledges, and fear a day the evil of which is widespread. 7 They feed the destitute, orphans, and captives for the love of God, saying, 8 Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. 9 Lo! we fear from our Lord a day of frowning and of fate. 10 So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness 11 and their reward for being patient will be a Garden and silk [clothing]. 12 Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. 13 And close upon them will be the shades thereof, and low will hang the clusters thereof greatly. 14 And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. 15 crystal-like, [but] of silver - the measure whereof they alone will determine. 16 They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water 17 (Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil. 18 ۞ Immortal youths shall go about them; when thou seest them, thou supposest them scattered pearls, 19 And when you see there, you shall see blessings and a great kingdom. 20 Upon them shall be green garments of silk and brocade; they are adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord shall give them to drink a pure draught. 21 [And it will be said], "Indeed, this is for you a reward, and your effort has been appreciated." 22
