In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 separating one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 As justification or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known term? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
