Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 Till a limit known? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 (Or) as it might be camels of bright yellow hue. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
