Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 The living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
