Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a known term? 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
