Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 storming tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 separating one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 So like golden camels." 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
