The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news - 2 About which they differ? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
