The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Whereof do they question one another? 1 About the great news - 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 made sleep for you to rest, 9 and made the night [its] cloak 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Surely hell lies in wait, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
