The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And (have We not) built over you the seven firmaments, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 They will dwell therein for ages. 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
