The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
