The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people together 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
