The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
