The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
