The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those who float in space, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
