The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
