The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
