The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
