He Frowned ('Abasa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 that the blind man came to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 you attend to him, 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 In honored books, 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 then eased his path for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 And produce therein corn, 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 fruits, and grass. 31 A provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 It is they, the disbelievers, the sinners. 42
