He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And he fears, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 Written by the hands of emissaries. 15 noble and pious. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then made his passage easy (at birth); 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 How We pour water in showers 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing and joyous 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
Almighty God's Truth.
