The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
