The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 that hide, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
