The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
