The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 The closing night, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
