The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
