The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 that hide, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
