Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 every soul will see the result of its deeds - those recorded before his death and those which will produce either virtue or evil after his death. 5 O MAN! What is it that lures thee away from thy bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Nay, [O men,] but you [are lured away from God whenever you are tempted to] give the lie to [God's] Judgment! 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 noble scribes, 11 Who know what you do. 12 Indeed, the righteous shall (live) in bliss. 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 They will enter it on the Day of Justice. 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 18 The day on which no soul will have the authority over any other soul; and on that day, the entire command belongs to Allah. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
