The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
