The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 shall call for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
