AND HAS the story of Abraham's honoured guests ever come within thy ken? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah's set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
