And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 “And forgive my father* – he is indeed astray.” (His paternal uncle) 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 no caring friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 In all this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
